Though he was born in Gap (France) in 1976, Mathieu Bernard-Reymond now lives in Lausanne (Switzerland).
In spite of his master's degree in political studies, his real passion has always been photography. Fascinated, as his whole generation is, by computing (which he masters without difficulty) he appreciates the aura of mystery surrounding it, and sees there an unlimited source of creativity.
But the newest technology never erases what's been done in the past, and Mathieu Bernard-Reymond knows it very well, that's why he recognizes the inheritance received from traditional photography. Yet, it is no doubt that what he creates is much more than an electronical alchemy : he pictures his imagination, and brings it to life using every possible mean to it.
This artistic approach is regularly awarded (CCF foudation award 2003, Prix NO LIMIT Rencontres d'Arles 2005, BMW award 2006, Acimboldo award 2009...) and there is not single one year but that several cities welcome of his exhibitions in Switzerland, France, Brazil, Russia, Italy, Germany, USA...
